Rick Marks, a Boston man, was diagnosed last year with ALS. or Lou Gehrig’s Disease, but he made the decision to not curl up and wait for the disease to take its horrible toll on his body. Instead he chose to do something to raise awareness about ALS and try to raise funds for research for the disease. Rick is attempting to hike 600 miles of the Appalachian Trail from Boston to Mount Katahdin in Maine. Marks is an experienced hiker so he was well aware of what he was in for when he made his decision. He has a lot of very good friends who are committed to helping him make this journey. You can follow Rick on his journey on his blog here http://RicksHikeForALS.org
