Real Estate Tax Bills for 2016 are expected to be mailed within the first week of July.
According to Effingham County Treasurer, Steven Dasenbrock, the tax bills are currently being printed. Tax Bills that have an ownership change that took place after December 31, 2016 will not be in the new owner’s name and address. Dasenbrock is reminding tax payers to forward these bills to the new owner who is responsible for the payment. The Taxes are due in two installments, the first on August 11th and the second on October 13th.
The total amount of taxes in 2016 was $50,130,498.72. In 2015, it was $48,151,626.14, an increase of 4.11%.
