New voter registration cards will soon be mailed out.
Effingham County Clerk and Recorder, Kerry Hirtzel, recently announced that new voter registration cards are being printed and will soon be mailed out. Illinois State Law requires that County Clerks verify voter registration every two years. By mailing out these new cards, Effingham County meets this requirement. Additionally, this new card will replace any cards that had been previously issued.
The new voter registration cards list where the voter’s polling place is located, as well as the jurisdictions in which a voter is eligible to vote. The new card should then be signed and carried with you as a form of I.D.
Hirtzel asks that all voters examine their new card to verify that their information is correct. If you have any questions regarding your voter registration card, contact the Effingham County Clerk’s Office at 217-342-6535.
