A Farina man is heading to prison after pleading guilty to Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child Under 13.
On Friday, Larry Sapp appeared in Fayette County Court with the Public Defender Starnes and States Attorney Morrison. The 52 year old was being charged with three counts of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child Under 13. As a plea agreement, Sapp plead guilty to one of the counts and the other two counts were dropped. The victim’s family gave consent to this plea agreement.
Sapp was sentenced to spend 11.5 years in the Department of Corrections, with 3 years to life Mandatory Supervised Release (Parole). In addition to his prison sentence, Sapp must register as a sex offender for life and will be responsible for the court costs as well as a $100 fine. Sapp was given 462 days of credit for time served.
