The Effingham Police Department is investigating a fatal accident that occurred at Pinnacle Foods on Tuesday.
Shortly after 11:00am, Effingham Emergency Responders were called to Pinnacle Foods for a man that was restrained under a semi trailer in the parking lot. As the Effingham Fire Department worked to free the man, an air-medical helicopter was called in. However, 59 year old, Lowell Ingram, of Alma was transported to HSHS St Anthony’s Hospital by ground ambulance. According to the Effingham Fire Department, Lowell was being flown from HSHS St Anthony’s Memorial Hospital by ARCH when he became unstable and they returned to HSHS St Anthony’s Memorial Hospital. He then passed away shorty after. Lowell’s family has been notified.
According to Effingham Police Chief Fuesting, Lowell was performing maintenance on the semi trailer when it collapsed on him. The incident is under investigation by the Effingham Police Department and the Effingham County Coroner’s Office.
