Two people were injured in an accident that occurred on I-70 eastbound in Marshall shortly after 12:00am on Saturday.
According to the Illinois State Police, 80 year old, Arthur L. Walls, of Picatune, Mississippi was traveling eastbound on I-70 when he started having medical issues. Walls was slowing in the driving lane to pull his vehicle off to the shoulder. Following Walls was 22 year old, Enrique Mejia-Soria, of Mission, Texas. Mejia-Soria slowed but was unable to avoid striking Walls and both vehicles came to a rest in the roadway. Walls and his passenger, 55 year old, Linda F. Gowdy, of Picayune, Mississippi was transported to Terre Haute Regional Hospital for treatment.
I-70 eastbound was reduced to one lane for approximately an hour due to the crash. The accident is under investigation.
