The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers are reporting that water levels are still too high at Lake Shelbyville to open the beaches.
The beaches were scheduled to open tomorrow, May 20th. However since water levels remain high, the beaches will remain closed until the water level recedes and the beaches can be cleared of debris. This impacts the Dam West Beach, Sullivan Beach, Wilborn Creek Beach, and Coon Creek Campground Beach. Additionally, Wolf Creek State Park’s High Water Beach will open on Saturday, May 27th from Memorial Day weekend.
