The Effingham Unit #40 School Board hired a new Head Basketball Coach for Effingham High School, Mr Rem Woodruff.
Currently employed with the district as Assistant Superintendent, Mr Woodruff has served the Effingham School District for 23 years in roles such as technology director, assistant superintendent, tennis coach, and basketball coach. He has 24 years of experience as a High School Basketball Coach, which includes four years as a head coach, a Regional Championship at Casey-Westfield, and a 63-42 overall record. He also has 20 years experience as an assistant basketball coach.
Effingham Activities Director, Dave Woltman stated, “Coach Woodruff earned his initial teaching credentials at Eastern Illinois University, a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Educational Administration and a Specialist degree from Eastern Illinois University. His family includes his wife, Marilyn. Mr Woodruff has a compelling passion for Effingham Basketball and he looks to cultivate and continue the strong tradition of the program.”
A meet-the-coach night will be held on Thursday, May 18th at 6:00pm in the Effingham High School office conference room.
