Stamp out hunger with the Effingham Post Office today, May 13th.
Celebrating it’s 25th anniversary, the Stamp Out Hunger food drive is the nation’s largest single day food drive. Last year, more than 80.1 million pounds of food was donated to hungry American families from Stamp Out Hunger.
Postmaster Dianne Miller stated, “We’re proud to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the food drive. We’re asking residents for their support to help make this another successful year. It’s easy to make a donation: simply leave a bag of nonperishable food items by the mailbox to help your neighbors in need”.
To participate in the Stamp Out Hunger food drive, leave a sturdy bag of nonperishable food next to your mailbox prior to the time of your regular mail delivery. Food items include canned soup, canned vegetables, peanut butter, pasta, rice, or cereal.
