- 32 year old, Benjamin D. Calkins, of Effingham was arrested by the Effingham Police Department on a Woodford County failure to appear warrant for speeding 35+mph over the speed limit. Calkins posted $375 and was released.
- 29 year old, Shawn R. Durbin, of Effingham was arrested by the Effingham Police Department for possession of less than 5 grams of Methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
- 20 year old, Ryan A. Harris, of Effingham was arrested by the Effingham Police Department for driving while license is suspended. Harris posted $150 and was released.

- At 11:00am north of the intersection of 2nd and Jefferson, an unknown vehicle struck a parked vehicle owned by CBIZ Network Solutions Inc, of Maryland Heights, Missouri. No injuries or citations were reported.
May 5, 2017
- At 9:43pm, a vehicle driven by 52 year old, Thomas L. Swift, of Alma was pulling a trailer south of the intersection of Banker and Elm. The trailer came unhooked, left the roadway, and struck and damaged a Mediacom pole and an Illinois Consolidated phone box. No injuries were reported. Swift was ticketed for unsafe equipment.
- At 10:00pm at 1701 W. Evergreen, an unknown vehicle struck a parked semi owned by Poly Trucking Inc. of Grand Prairie, Texas. No injuries or citations were reported.
- At 3:48pm at the intersection of Fayette and Walnut, a vehicle driven by 64 year old, Jack C. Vanzanten, of Chester, Virginia pulled into the path of and was struck by a vehicle driven by 17 year old, Christopher R. Shimboff IV, of Effingham. No injuries or citations were reported.

- At an undetermined time at 1805 W. Fayette, an unknown vehicle struck a parked vehicle owned by Nakayla Kiselka, of Granite City. No injuries or citations reported at this time.
- At 7:30am at 1805 W Fayette, a semi driven by 78 year old, Charles L. Harper, of Perryville, Missouri struck a parked semi owned by Knight Refrigerated Inc. of Noblesville, Indiana. No injuries or citations were reported.
- At 9:45am south of the intersection of N. Pembroke and North a vehicle driven by 70 year old, William T. Pearcy, of Effingham and a vehicle driven by 74 year old, Judy C. Latta, of Effingham backed into each other. No injuries or citations were reported.
- At 11:05am south of the intersection of Keller and Ave of Mid America, a vehicle driven by 17 year old, Shania L. Cornell, of Effingham rear-ended a vehicle driven by 48 year old, Sharon L. Buenker, of Effingham. No injuries or citations were reported.
- At 6:30pm at the intersection of Keller and Evergreen, a vehicle driven by 31 year old, Dustun W. Fort, of Toldeo rear-ended a vehicle driven by 50 year old, Brent L. Smith, of Effingham. The collision caused Smith’s vehicle to rear-end a vehicle driven by 29 year old, Nathaniel P. Meyers, of Lafayette, Tennessee. No injuries or citations were reported.

- At 4:40pm east of the intersection of Keller and the Westbound I-70/Southbound I-57 exit ramp, a vehicle driven by 19 year old, Jordon T. Wilkinson, of Effingham rear-ended a vehicle driven by 37 year old, Artemio Pimentel, of Hidalgo. No injuries or citations were reported.

- 33 year old, Dane J. Cannon, of Effingham was cited for pedestrian under the influence.
- 43 year old, Libbie S. Wormack-Jorn, of Effingham was cited for driving while under the influence of alcohol.
Investigations
- Police are investigating criminal damage to property that occurred at Effingham Junior High on May 5th between the hours of 6:36pm and 7:06pm. A window sustained damage in the amount of $200.
- Police are investigating criminal damage to property and a theft that occurred in the 900 block of East Jefferson between the hours of 8:30pm on May 7th and 12:00am on May 8th. An Ameren electric meter from an electric panel valued at $250, keys and a key fob valued at $50, and batteries from a motion sensor valued at $10 were taken. Additionally a padlock valued at $10 sustained damage.
