The National Road Association of Illinois is encouraging motorists to travel on Route 40 during National Travel & Tourism Week on May 7th through the 13th.
Route 40 in Illinois stretches 164 miles from the Indiana border to the Mississippi River. It passes through seven counties; Clark, Cumberland, Effingham, Fayette, Bond, Madison, and St. Clair. They encourage motorists that travel on Route 40 during this week take pictures, build memories, and visit the National Road informational kiosks.
Route 40 stretches through many local towns, including Marshall, Martinsville, Casey, Greenup, Montrose, Teutopolis, Effingham, Altamont, St. Elmo, Brownstown, Vandalia, and Mulberry Grove.
