The Illinois State Police District 12 recently released the results from Occupant Restraint Patrols. The patrols were held in Clay and Marion Counties during the month of March. District 12 police officers issued 7 written warnings and 42 citations during the patrols. The following is the total law enforcement activity that was taken per violation during the Occupant Restraint Patrols.
- Safety Belt Citations- 28
- Child Restraint Citations- 0
The patrols were held to keep Clay and Marion County roads safe by reminding driver’s that safety belts save lives. This was accomplished by reinforcing the message to those that ignore this law. The Illinois State Police is reminding all motorists to “Click it or Ticket”.
