100+ Women Who Care had their first meeting of 2017 on April 6th at the Thelma Keller Convention Center. At their meeting, they selected the FISH Christmas Store as the first recipient of the year. FISH received $10,700 from the organization to help with their efforts in providing coats, toys, food, stockings, and much more to low-income families.
100+ Women Who Care will select two more recipients this year. 100+ Women Who Care Effingham County is an organization of philanthropic women whose mission is to give back to Effingham County. Each year, the women who join 100+ Women Who Care donate $400. This money is then split into 4 $100 increments, the first of which supports the 100+ Women Who Care Effingham County Endowment; while the other $100 increments are used for three meetings held throughout the year. At these meetings, three non-profit organizations are drawn and representatives will, then, present what their non-profit organization is for. Members of 100+ Women Who Care will afterwards vote for the non-profit organization to donate the grant to.
