The Effingham Sunrise and Noon Rotarys will hold the Dr. David Bristow Memorial Golf Outing on Friday, May 5th at 1:00pm. Dr. Bristow was a strong advocate for the elimination of the Polio disease worldwide until his death in 2010. The Rotarys are holding this golf outing in hopes that the proceeds can help in the battle to end Polio. Rotary International has helped to vaccinate over 2 billion children worldwide since 1979.
President of the Sunrise Rotary, Becky Brown stated, “We are so close to eradicating polio, but we need our community’s help. By playing in the outing or providing a sponsorship for the event, individuals can contribute to the global effort and protect children against polio forever”.
The deadline to register for the golf outing is May 1st. Golfer’s can register for $100 per person or $400 per team. Those who wish to sponsor the outing can do so as a $500 dinner sponsor, $250 putting green or driving range, and $100 hole sponsorship. The deadline to sign up for sponsorship is April 21st. To register, contact Landon Etheridge at 217-347-7751, Charlie Brumleve at 217-821-8348, or any Effingham Rotarian.
