Illinois State Police District 12 has released enforcement figures for the month of February. Officers responded to 150 calls for service and initiated 1,714 incidents in the field.
There were 892 citations and 845 written warnings. Of those, 422 were speeding citations, 15 DUIs, 122 seat belt violations, 2 child restraint citations, 269 written warnings for speeding, and 41 criminal arrests. District 12 troopers also assisted 142 motorists, conducted 329 Motor Carrier Inspections and investigated 51 traffic crashes. There were two fatal crashes in the month.
427 citations and 307 warnings were written for the “Fatal Four” violations of speeding, DUI, failure to wear seat belt, and distracted driving.
