One man was airlifted to Carle Hospital in Champaign following an accident that occurred approximately 3 miles south of Neoga on Interstate 57, Saturday afternoon.
According to a press release from the Illinois State Police, 77 year old, Ronald Kuykendall, of Shelby, Michigan was traveling northbound on I-57 in the right lane when he veered off the roadway into the ditch and overturned. Kuykendall had stated to police that he was tired and had fallen asleep. He was flown from the scene of the accident by helicopter to Carle.
Ronald Kuykendall has been charged with improper lane usage.
