(Champaign, IL) — A University of Illinois student accused of suffocating her newborn infant in a dorm bathroom last year is expected to plead guilty next month. Lawyers for Lindsay Johnson didn’t specify which crime she would take responsibility for during a hearing Thursday in Champaign County court. Johnson faces multiple charges including murder and concealment of a homicidal death. Prosecutors say she gave birth to her child last March at Bousfield Hall before police found her on campus wearing a backpack holding the newborn’s deceased body.
