Neoga Community School District #3 named Benjamin Johnson as Superintendent. He’ll start the new job in July. Johnson is currently the Assistant Superintendent and has been in administration with District #3 for over ten years. He will be taking on responsibilities that include general management, overseeing education standards, hiring, and working with government agencies.
“We’re excited to have Ben step up and lead our school district into the future,” said Chris Strohl, Neoga Board of Education President. “He has over 20 years in the public education system and we have tremendous confidence in Ben’s vast amount of knowledge, experience and ability to contribute at a high level for our district.”
Johnson started his tenure with Neoga Schools as high school principal and has prior experience in administration at Massac County High School in Metropolis. Additionally, has experience teaching math and coaching basketball and track. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from the University of Idaho and his Master of Science Degree in Educational Administration at Eastern Illinois University. Johnson is also active in the community volunteering with New Hope Church, the Neoga Park District, and the Neoga Partnership for Progress.
