Flora Jeanne Haack, 83, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2017, at Heartland Christian Village in Neoga, IL.
A memorial service for Flora Jeanne will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Effingham. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham, IL is assisting the family. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials may be made in loving memory of Flora Jeanne to Lincolnland Hospice, Heartland Christian Village Auxiliary in Neoga, or S.W.A.N. (Stop Women Abuse Now).
Flora Jeanne was born on August 23, 1933, in Effingham, IL, the daughter of John and Gladys (Percival) Martins.
Flora Jeanne was a beautician for many years in Dieterich and Effingham. In the late 80’s she moved to Chicago. She attended a return to work program at the Anexter Center and remained working at the center until she retired in 2008. While in Chicago she was always eager to join her brother, sister, and social group from the Anexter Center to explore all the adventures and cultural experiences Chicago has to offer. She returned to Effingham in 2009 where she enjoyed gardening and lake activities.
Flora Jeanne is survived by her sister, Janet Martins of Effingham, and 2 sons, Myron Haack and Leon Haack both of Montrose.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Dr. John R. “Richard” Martins.
