A Fillmore man was injured in an accident that occurred approximately 4 miles north of Effingham, Friday afternoon.
According to preliminary details being released by the Illinois State Police, 35 year old, Daniel Feddeck, of Picayune, Mississippi was traveling southbound on Interstate 57. Feddeck changed lanes into the left lane so that 54 year old, David Haslett, of Fillmore could merge onto I-57 southbound from the rest area. Haslett merged prematurely, traveling through the median grass before exiting the ramp. Haslett struck the front tandem axles of Feddeck’s tractor-trailer. Haslett’s tractor-trailer obtained significant front end damage, coming to a rest in the center of both lanes of I-57 southbound; while, Feddeck’s tractor-trailer received significant trailer damage, coming to a rest on the right shoulder.
David Haslett was transported to HSHS St Anthony’s Memorial Hospital for treatment. Charges are currently pending further investigation.
