The arrest of two California women Tuesday night at 11:30 p.m. led to a large seizure of marijuana in Vandalia. Vandalia Police and the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office says they were able to confiscate 64 pounds of marijuana that was allegedly being transported thru the area. Reports say officers were called to the Economy Inn at 1500 North 6th Street for a disturbance where they discovered the marijuana. The two individuals arrested were 18 year old Joana C. Rebollar-Limon and 20 year old Christina K. Phaviseth, both of California. They are facing pending charges of Delivery of Cannabis and Cannabis Trafficking. Vandalia Police Chief Jeff Ray says the two individuals were traveling from California to Ohio.
