State Representative John Cavaletto is ready to make the 100th General Assembly mean something. The 5-term state rep. was sworn in Wednesday afternoon in Springfield. He represents Illinois’ 107th district.
“I hope to God that this hundredth General Assembly really, truly means something,” Cavaletto said. “And it would be a great start when we come back here to get a budget and to get this state going again. Because I tell you what, it’s time that the people be released.”
Cavaletto criticized the legislature saying that he has “not seen anything done for the people” in the eight years he’s been in office. He said that focus of his would putting Southern Illinois back to work.
“I’m going to work hard and if I’m a thorn in someone’s side, I’m going to do what’s right for the people of Southern Illinois and I think it’s time we start moving and getting those people to work and as soon as we can do that, the better off we are,” Cavaletto stated.
