Two people were injured in an accident that occurred 5 miles northeast of Newton, early Sunday morning.
At approximately 1:08 am, 26 year old, Christopher Dhom and 26 year old, Kelli Wilson were headed westbound on Falmouth Road, a half mile west of CR 1100E. Dhom was driving at an accelerated speed and lost control of the vehicle, leaving the roadway. The vehicle hit an embankment and then traveled an estimated 93 feet to the southwest. The vehicle then overturned onto its driver’s side, coming to a rest. Both Dhom and Wilson were transported to HSHS St Anthony’s Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Dhom was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, failure to wear a safety belt, and operating an uninsured vehicle.
