(Springfield, IL) — Illinois’ university leaders aren’t excited about more uncertainty at the statehouse. Universities across the state are among those who could see financial hardships when Illinois’ six-month budget expires at the end of the month. The schools went about a year without any state money last year, so this isn’t new. But that last go-round left some schools, like Eastern Illinois University and Chicago State, teetering on the edge.
