McCarter Comes Out Against Nuclear Energy Bill

State Senator Kyle McCarter has come out against the power bill signed by Governor Rauner, calling it a bail out for Exelon.

 

kyle mccarterBut, there is another side to the issue and that is the human side. Without the bill, Exelon was going to close the plants in Clinton and the Quad Cities. For Clinton, a community of about 7,000, it would have cost them 700 jobs—their largest employer. And, it would have also cost the Clinton School District 8 million dollars in local property tax revenue, which comes from the power plant.
