The Illinois Department of Transportation is alerting motorists that survey crews will be working along the I-70 corridor from the North tri-level in Effingham to the Montrose exit for the next four weeks.
Crews are preparing for a flight survey by laying panels (pictured below) along the corridor. Some will be on private property. Panels are four-foot squares made of black burlap, with a white cross in the middle. These panels must be left in place until the survey is finished. After the aerial survey is complete, crews will remove the panels.
