Three Chicks and a Stage are bringing Yes, Virginia, There is a Santa Claus and The Bells of Claremont to the Effingham Performance Center on Saturday, December 3rd at 7:00pm and Sunday, December 4th at 2:00pm.
Yes, Virginia, There is a Santa Claus is set on a New York City Christmas Eve in 1987. Eight year old, Virginia, is questioning the existence of Santa Claus after unfortunate events. At the same time, a young newspaper editor must find his “voice” by the morning, or face unemployment. Those these two don’t know each other, Christmas Spirit will bring them together.
Based on a true story, The Bells of Claremont is set on Christmas Eve in 1944, when a small group of American soldiers are given orders to join the Battle of the Bulge. The soldiers then ponder the idea of deserting the army, restoring a Christmas tradition, and helping those that they love.
Tickets to see the Three Chicks and a Stage performances are available online at TheEPC.org or by phone at 217-540-2788 or at the Effingham Performance Center Box Office. The Effingham Performance Center Box Office is open Monday-Friday from 10:00am to 4:00pm, and Saturday 10:00am to 3:00pm. Wednesdays, the Effingham Performance Center Box Office has extended hours and will be open until 6:00pm. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children ages 12 and under.
These performances are being produces by special arrangement with Playscripts, Inc. Three Chicks and a Stage are a non-profit theater company that is in residence at the Effingham Performance Center. It is partially supported by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council Agency. The Effingham Performance Center is located at 1325 Outer Belt West in Effingham, Exit 160 at the cross-section of Interstates 57 and 70.
