HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL
ALTAMONT VS. CHARLESTON
Charleston jumped out to an early lead and was able to hold on for a 70-42 win against Altamont. Charleston took a 28-17 lead at the half. Charleston was led by Wango who had 16 points. Charleston also got 13 points from O’Dell, 12 points from Coffey, and 10 points from Jackson. Altamont was led by Stone and Duckwitz who each scored 10 points. The loss drops Altamont to 2-1 on the season. Altamont will take part in the Newton Thanksgiving Tournament starting on Monday.
JR HIGH BASKETBALL
ALTAMONT VS. NEOGA
Altamont 8th grade girls were able to defeat Neoga 51-12. Altamont was led by Runge who scored 20 points. Neoga was led by Phillips who scored 6 points. In 7th grade action it was Altamont getting the win 32-17. Altamont was led by Walker who scored 15 points and McManaway who scored 14 points. Neoga was led by Dunn who scored 7 points.
EFFINGHAM VS. TEUTOPOLIS
Effingham defeated Teutopolis in 8th grade girls basketball 27-16. Effingham was led by Diveley who scored 14 points. Teutopolis was led by Michels who had 6 points. The 8th grade team finishes the season at 10-8 on the season. The 7th grade Regionals will kick off on the 21st in Mattoon.
JASPER COUNTY VS. TEUTOPOLIS
In 8th grade boys basketball it was Teutopolis getting the win against Jasper County 62-8. Teutopolis was led by Ruholl and M. Deters who each scored 12 points. Jasper County was led by 4 players who each scored two points. The loss drops Jasper County to 0-5 on the season. In 7th grade action it was Teutopolis getting the win 46-25. Teutopolis was led by Bushur who scored 33 points. Jasper County was led by Tharp who scored 11 points. The loss drops Jasper County to 4-1 on the season.
