(Effingham, IL) — The Cromwell Group, Inc. radio stations in Effingham (All American County WCRC, News/Talk WCRA, 98.9 The Game, and JACK FM) are pleased to welcome Brian Rickman as Operations Manager and WCRC “All American County” Morning Show Host. Rickman will be taking on duties that include, but are not limited to, maintaining the on-air stations, overseeing programming, and hosting the WCRC Morning Drive from 6-10.
Rickman, a Decatur native, started his radio career at age 16 at WDZ in Decatur after a friend commented on how deep his voice was for a 16-year-old. Since then, he has worked at markets in New York, New Jersey, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, and most recently, Texas. He attended Illinois State University where he studied Theater and English. Rickman has extensive experience in operations stemming from his last post with Town Square Media in Tyler, Texas and has been in the radio industry for around 23 years.
He remarked that is his goal is to “Take us [Cromwell Effingham] to the next step as far as quality and serving the community.”
Effingham General Manager Sheila Myers said that she was excited to welcome Brian to the team and that he brings an extensive skill set.
“Brian brings with him many talents including on-air, team leadership, on-air product development and branding, web and social media, and content development. Brian is originally from Central Illinois and I’m glad he decided to move home,” Myers said.
Rickman will make his on-air debut 6-10 a.m. Thursday morning on 95.7 WCRC All American County. He looks forward to working with the Effingham, and surrounding, communities.
