(Chicago, IL) — Ousted U.S. Senator Mark Kirk and his replacement are working on a transition plan. Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth beat Kirk in last week’s election, and the two met up for lunch at a Chicago deli on Friday, continuing an occasional political tradition in the state. The meeting wasn’t without some back-and-forth, however, as the two discussed whether the Senate should initiate a hearing for Merrick Garland, who is President Obama’s Supreme Court nominee.
