Effingham County Jail – November 4, 2016:
- 32-year-old Kelsey R. Saddler, homeless, was arrested by the Altamont Police Department and charged with Retail Theft.
- 34-year-old Joe S. Vandervort, homeless, was arrested by the Altamont Police Department and charged with Retail Theft.
- 25-year-old Stetson W. Stokes, of Brownstown, was arrested by the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office and held from problem solving court per Judge Sanders for a mittimus to be served in Fayette County. Stokes was turned over to Fayette County Authorities.
- 31-year-old Tyson Donald Reed, of Effingham, was arrested by the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office and sentenced to two weekends for reckless driving.
November 5, 2016:
- 28-year-old Victoria M. Raguso, of Effingham, was arrested by the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office on an Effingham County Mittimus and sentenced to two weekends for reckless driving.
- 21-year-old Dalton G. Higgs, of Altamont, was arrested by the Altamont Police Department and was charged with Violation of Order of Protection.
- 29-year-old Megan B. Kraft, of Teutopolis, was arrested by the Effingham Police Department, on an Effingham County warrant for Failure to Appear for Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle.
- 19-year-old Nicholas L. Vadakin, of Cowden, was arrested by the Illinois State Police on an Shelby County Warrant for Failure to Reduce Speed.
November 6, 2016:
- 35-year-old Cody Alan Jones, of Farina, was arrested by the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office and charged with Resisting a Police Officer.
- 30-year-old Jonathan G. Devore, of Mason, was arrested by the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office on an Effingham County warrant for Failure to Appear for Possession of methamphetamine. Bail of $825 was posted.
- 28-year-old Christopher Michael Baker, of Effingham, was arrested by the Effingham Police Department and charged with Possession of methamphetamine, Obstructing Justice, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and driving While Licence Revoked.
- 25-Year-old Anthony Roderick, of Effingham, was arrested by the Effingham Police Department and charged with Domestic Battery.
- 30-year-old Brian David Houser, of Shumway, was arrested by the Effingham Police Department on an Effingham County Warrant for failure to appear for DUI/Alcohol and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine.
- 18-year-old Alexa Elizabeth Dawn Holman, of Effingham, was arrested by the Effingham Police Department and charged with Theft Under $500 from a Residence.
- 22-year-old John Henry Wayne Criner, of Effingham, was arrested by the Effingham Police Department and charged with Theft under $500. Bail of $150 was posted.

- At 5:16 P.M. at the intersection of Fayette and Banker a vehicle driven by Ann Crowley, 63, Louisville, rear-ended a vehicle driven by Sophia J. Ballard, 17, Effingham. No injuries and no citations.
November 5, 2016
- At 1:31 A.M. at the intersection of Raney and Wabash a vehicle driven by Kyle R. Jayne, 24, Yale, swerved to miss an animal in the road and struck a curb. No injuries and no citations.
- At 10:15 A.M. at 101 S. Merchant an unknown vehicle struck a parked vehicle owned by Harold D. Tull, 48, Effingham. No injuries and no citations at this time.

- Theft of a bicycle valued at $450.00 occurred while parked on the sidewalk at 101 E. Jefferson on 11/04/16 between 10:00 P.M. and 10:46 P.M.
- Burglary from a motor vehicle occurred while parked at 1101 Ave of Mid America on 11/06/16 between 8:46 A.M. and 9:46 A.M. Stolen was a leather bag containing paperwork valued at $150.00 and a voice recorder valued at $200.00. The passenger side window sustained $300.00 damage during the incident.
- Burglary from a motor vehicle occurred while parked at 1101 Ave of Mid America on 11/06/16 between 5:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. Stolen was a television valued at $278.00 and a Blue Ray player valued at $50.00. The driver’s side door lock sustained $50.00 damage during the incident.
Mattoon Police Department – November 4, 2016:
- Mattoon police arrested Grady A. Swinford, age 45 of Mattoon, on Friday Nov. 4th at 8:23 a.m. in the 900 block of Prairie Ave. Swinford was charged with Criminal Trespass to Property. The charge alleges that Swinford declined to leave a property despite being ordered to do so by the land owner and police. Swinford was taken to the jail.
November 5, 2016:
- Derek T. Hensley, age 24 of Mattoon, was arrested on Nov. 4th at 10:20 a.m. in the 1000 block of N. Rt. 45. He was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver. The charge alleges that Hensley was found to be in possession of the drug and that it was packaged for re-sale. Hensley was taken to the jail.
- Jeffrey A. Mingus, age 34 of Mattoon, was arrested on Nov. 5th at 1:11 p.m. in the 1800 block of S. 9th street. Mingus was charged with Criminal Trespass to Property and Possession of Methamphetamine. The charges allege that Mingus was trespassing at Sunrise Apartments after previously being banned, and that he was found to be in possession of methamphetamine. Mingus was taken to jail.
