The Teutopolis Board of Trustees heard from a business owner that hopes to bring his business to Teutopolis in their Wednesday meeting.
Ryan Spencer and Mary Wendte spoke to the Board at their Wednesday meeting about potentially bringing their Micro Brewery business to Teutopolis. Spencer said that the business would brew their own alcoholic beverages and sell the beverages in a tap room as well as distribute the them as kegs and to other businesses. They would also be opening a restaurant that serves lunch and dinner as well. While currently viewing multiple locations for the potential business, Spencer has expressed interest in the old Habing Warehouse. Spencer hopes to be open in a year, however planning still remains.
Although Village Foreman, Carl Pals, was absent from the meeting, his report was given to Village President, Greg Hess. Hess conveyed Pals’ report to the Board, starting with a request from the Church to replace the sidewalks in front of the Church. The request is part of a cosmetic procedure being performed by the Church to the front concrete. The Board decided not to replace that section of sidewalk, as the Village doesn’t usually replace sidewalks that are not damaged or busted. A resident in August Winds had also asked Pals about adding a separate sewer tap to his property. The resident wants to build a building on their property to put an indoor basketball court in. The Board had tabled this discussion, pending more information.
The Teutopolis Board of Trustees will meet again on Wednesday, November 16th.
