(Chester, IL) — Police say the man who was being chased when Chester police officer James Brockmeyer died in a car crash has been arrested. Jason Stoker was taken into custody yesterday in the St. Louis area on charges of aggravated fleeing and eluding a peace officer. Authorities say Brockmeyer’s car left the road and flipped over about two miles north of Chester as he was chasing Stoker Friday night. Officials are in the process of bringing the suspect back to Illinois.
