An ongoing investigation is being conducted by the Effingham County State’s Attorney after a Dieterich man was stabbed in an altercation at a Dieterich residence in the morning of Friday, October 14th.
Authorities identified that the individual who was stabbed is 19-year-old Skyler L. Roley, of Dieterich. He was airlifted from the scene to Carle Hospital in Champaign where he was stabilized and later released. The Effingham County Sheriff’s Office has stated that all of the involved parties have been identified and there is no danger to the public.
Two individuals have been arrested for their involvement with the incident. 18-year-old Brayden L. Aldredge, of Effingham, and 34-year-old Adam J. Pipkins, of Effingham, are both in custody and charged with Mob Action, a Class 4 Felony. Both had bond set to $30,000 by Judge Kimberly Koester.
Roley was also indicted on Wednesday by an Effingham County Grand Jury on two counts of Aggravated Battery and One count of Mob Action. Witnesses claimed that Roley had produced a chain and used it as weapon against Anthony Hawes, of Rural Dieterich. Authorities also alleged that Hawes stabbed Roley in self-defense. A warrant has been issued for Skyler Roley.
