Americana Singer-Songwriter Slaid Cleaves is bringing a unique blend of music and storytelling to downtown Effingham Saturday evening at Village Wine and Gifts. Cleaves is based in Austin, Texas, but tours and has recorded several albums. Local musician and event organizer Bill Passalacqua (Poss) described Cleaves as a storyteller.
His most recent album is entitled “Still fighting the War.” Cleaves will be accompanied by guitar player Scrappy Jud Newcomb for Saturday’s show. Poss said that due to the small venue, the audience will be up close to the storytelling.
The show starts at 7:00 p.m. at Village Wine and Gifts in downtown Effingham. Tickets are available at 347-0477. You can hear a full interview with Bill Poss here!
