The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that the eastbound U.S. 51 ramp to Interstate 70 will be closed beginning Monday for construction.
Beginning on Monday, October 17th, the ramp will be closed all week and traffic will be detoured to Route 40. The ramp is being closed for the removal of the temporary ramp being used for the construction of the new Kaskaskia River bridge. Once re-opened, traffic will be routed from the crossovers to the eastbound lanes of I-70.
The U.S. 51 ramp is scheduled to be re-opened by the evening of Friday, October 21st.
