Two were injured Sunday evening south of Dietrich after a collision that shut down traffic at the intersection of 2300th Street and 700th Avenue.
At approximately 4:30 p.m. a vehicle driven 19-year-old Joseph L. Lidy, of Effingham, was eastbound on 700th Avenue at the intersection of 2300th Street. Lidy ran a stop sign and drove into the path of 82-year-old William H. Watson, of Zionsville, Indiana, causing a collision.
Lidy was flown to Carle Hospital in Urbana and Watson was taken to St. Anthony’s Hospital in Effingham for treatment.
The Effigham County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the crash as the Lidy was flown off the scene before the report could be completed.
