Jasper County States Attorney, Chad M. Miller, announced that on Tuesday seven marijuana plants were seized by local law enforcement in the Rose Hill area.
According to Miller, Conservation Police Sgt., David Hyatt, along with the help of the Jasper County Sheriff’s Department seized the plants from the rural property of an unsuspecting land owner near Rose Hill. The plants had an approximate street value of $5,000 a piece. Of the plants, the largest was nearly 10 feet tall.
Jasper County States Attorney, Chad M. Miller said, “This is just an example of the continued collaborative efforts on drug enforcement in Jasper County, our agencies will continue to work together to keep drugs off our streets. My office remains focused on diligently addressing drug prosecution.”
The investigation as to who planted and was caring for the plants is on-going.
