The Effingham County Jail received a notification from state inspectors indicating that no deficiencies were found during an August inspection. The state mandates that all Illinois county jails are inspected annually by the Illinois Department of Corrections and that the result are made available to the public.
Sheriff Mahon stated that Illinois Department of Corrections noted that they had received several letters form detainees who commented on “the cleanliness of the jail and the professionalism and respectfulness of Jail Administrator Marnie Raber and the jail staff at the Effingham County Jail.”
A copy of the jail inspection is available for public inspection at the Sheriff’s Office and the Office of the Effingham County Clerk.
