A Vandalia man arrested after a nearly 6 hour standoff Sunday night appeared in Fayette County Court on Monday. 33-year old Randy Bone was informed of the two charges against him with the first being Aggravated Battery as information states Bone allegedly “while using a deadly weapon, being a hunting knife” committed battery when he “knowingly threw the hunting knife” striking the victim in the chest. The charge is a Class 3 Felony. Bone also faces a charge of Domestic Battery as he is alleged to have “knowingly made physical contact of an insulting or provoking nature” to a family or household member causing the person’s lip to bleed. That charge is a Class A Misdemeanor. The court found probable cause to detain Bone and bond in the matter was set at $25,000 with the condition that Randy Bone has no contact with the victim in the case. Bone was appointed a public defender and will make his first appearance with counsel, Ed Potter, on September 20 at 11am.
