The Cardinals were able to win both games of the doubleheader against Padres.
Game 1
The Cardinals came from behind to get the 4-2 win in game 1.
The Padres scored two runs in the first on a Schimpf two run home run. The Cardinals came back with a Holliday solo home run in the bottom of the second. The Cardinals took the lead on a two run home run by Gyorko to take a 3-2 lead. The Cardinals added another run in the sixth on a Molina solo home run to take a 4-2 lead.
MartÃnez got the win improving to 9-6 on the year. MartÃnez game up 2 runs on 4 hits while striking out 5 and walking 1 over 7 innings. Rea took the loss falling to 5-4 on the season. Rea gave up 4 runs on 8 hits while striking out 2 and walking 3 over 6 innings.
Game 2
The Cardinals were able to hold on and get the 3-2 win.
The Cardinals got on the board first with a Gyorko solo home run in the third. Gyorko stayed hot with a two run home run in the bottom of the fifth to take a 3-0 lead. The Padres got on the board with a Kemp solo home run in the sixth and added another run in the seventh on a Schimpf solo home run to make it 3-2.
Garcia got the win improving to 7-6 on the season. Garcia gave up 1 run on 6 hits while striking out 4 and walking 2 over 5 and 2/3 innings. Clemens took the loss falling to 1-1 on the year. Clemens gave up 3 runs on 4 hits while striking out 5 and walking 2 over 5 innings.
