The Cardinals will go into the All Star break winners of two in a row after a 5-1 win against the Brewers.
The Brewers scored first with a Lucroy RBI single in the first. The Cardinals came back to tie the game in the second with an Adams solo home run. The Cardinals added a run in the fifth on a Piscotty RBI single. Grichuk added another run in the sixth on a solo home run to give the Cardinals a 3-1 lead. The Cardinals added two runs in the ninth on an Adams RBI double and a Grichuk RBI single to make it 5-1.
Leake got the win for the Cardinals improving to 6-7 on the season. Leake gave up 1 run on 6 hits while striking out 10 over 7 innings. Guerra took the loss falling to 6-2 on the year. Guerra gave up 3 runs on 7 hits while striking out 5 and walking 3 over 5 and 2/3 innings.
The Cardinals go into the All Star break with a record of 46-42. The Cardinals are second in the NL Central just 7 games behind the Cubs.
