Michael Zilm will serve as interim president at Clay County Hospital in Flora. He began his term last week.
According to press release from the hospital, Zilm has extensive experience in hospitals nationwide, including rural hospitals where he has doing interim work for the past seven years. Zilm is originally from Toluca, IL.
“I am very comfortable in working in rural communities and rural hospitals. I know how important the hospital is to Clay County and how important it is to being a vital part of the community” Zilm said.
Zilm has also worked as a permanent president at numerous hospitals including SSM St. Mary’s Health Center in St. Louis. Zilm also said that the community and staff have been “welcoming and friendly.”
