Archer Daniels Midland, or ADM, donated $1,000 to the Effingham County Sheriff’s office to support their “Shop With a Deputy” program.
The program helps economically deprived students in Effingham County go Christmas shopping with their families. How many students get to participate in the annual program depends on donations throughout the year. Anywhere between 100-150 students participate each year. Effingham County Sheriff Dave Mahon said “We are very thankful for having local businesses such as ADM to assist us with the Shop with A Deputy Program. We strive to help as many families as we can each year, and this generous donation is greatly appreciated.”
The donation comes from ADM Cares, a social investment program within the company. The program has three areas of focus. The responsible development of agriculture, improving the quality of life in ADM communities, and fostering employee giving.
