Five were injured in a crash in Liberty Township yesterday night at 11:51. 24-year-old John A. McCormick was heading westbound on 2000th Avenue when he lost control of his vehicle while attempting to follow a curve on 325th Street. McCormick’s vehicle left the roadway heading westbound though a wooded area where it eventually came to rest on the right of way of the Union Pacific Railroad.
McCormick and four passengers were injured and transported to St. Anthony’s Hospital for treatment. Passengers included 20-year-old Brandon L. Niepert of Mulberry Grove; 19-year-old Jaime R. Osborne of Effingham; 20-year-old Brett A. Galloway of Altamont; and 18-year-old Sierria P. Hilton of Effingham.
McCormick is charged with Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid and Accident.
