Matt Holliday had 3 RBI’s to help the Cardinals beat the Brewers 6-0
The Cardinals struck in the top of third with three runs. Holliday had an RBI single, Adams had an RBI double, and Holliday scored on a passed ball that would have been a strike out. Cardinals scored another run in the fifth with a Holliday RBI single. Carpenter scored on a wild pitch in the seventh. Holliday then hit a monster 456 foot home run to give the Cardinals a 6-0 lead.
Carlos Martinez got the win, making him 5-5 on the year. Martinez gave up no runs and only 5 hits while striking out 8 and walking 1. Junior Guerra took the loss moving to 3-1 on the season. Guerra threw 6 and 1/3 innings giving up 4 runs on 3 hits and striking out 6.
