109th District State Representative David Reis is urging Illinois lawmakers to stay in Springfield this weekend with the deadline for the Spring Legislative Session under a week away. After that, a super-majority will be required to pass a budget.
House Democrats passed budget that spends approximately 7-billion dollars more than what the state will bring in through revenue. Ries says that bi-partisan groups committed to a reformed budget are making progress and that everyone should stay in Springfield to get the job done. The suggestion was rejected.
