Green was called up from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes Barre following an injury to starting pitcher Luis Severino. Green has thrown 37 innings over seven starts at Triple-A this season. He has an ERA of 1.22, a 1.10 WHIP and a 36/12 strikeout to walk ratio.
After pitching for three years at the University of Louisville, Green was an 11th round pick by the Detroit Tigers in 2013. He was traded to the Yankees this past offseason.
