The Illinois State Police have announced their activity and enforcement figures for the month of April in District 12. Troopers in District 12, which includes Clark, Clay, Crawford, Cumberland, Effingham, Fayette, Jasper, Lawrence, Marion, and Richland Counties, answered 232calls for service and initiated 2072 incidents in the field.
In addition, there were 952 citations and 854 written warnings in April, including 550 speeding citations, 15 DUIs, and 45 criminal arrests. Troopers also assisted 182 motorists, conducted 625 Motor Carrier Inspections, and investigated 71 traffic crashes. There were two fatal crash investigated during the month.
529 citations and 243 written warnings were issued for “Fatal Four” violations last month. These violations are most associated with fatal traffic crashes and include Speeding, DUI, Failure to Wear a Seatbelt, and Distracted Driving.
