The Apollo Conference Boys and Girls Track Meet was held Thursday, with both Effingham’s boys and girls teams finishing in 3rd.
In the girl’s meet Effingham had first place finishes from Shayna Phillips in the 800m, Kiyah Kuhlman in the 300m hurdles, and from the 4x400m team. Effingham’s girls also had second place finishes from Phillips in the 400m, Kourtney Cordes in the 3200m, Kristina Rivera in the 100m, and Hannah Taylor in the long jump. Charleston was the overall team winner in the girl’s meet.
In the boy’s meet Effingham had first place finishes from Sean Zerrusen in the 800m, Terrance Hill in the high jump, Alec Morrisey in the pole vault, and from their 4x200m team. The Hearts had second place finishes from Zerrusen in the 400m, Drew Vasquez in the pole vault, and from their 4x400m team. Mattoon was the overall winner in the boy’s meet.
